Viticulture

Vineyards have been cultivated in Cyprus for centuries due to the climatic conditions of the island. In particular, vines flourish in warm and dry climates. According to the Great Cyprus Encyclopedia, Viticulture is dated back to the prehistoric years.

In the past, many residents of Archimandrita used to be occupied in viticulture. However, during the 80s viticulture was abandoned both because of urbanization and the fact that it ceased to be a profitable profession.
